Text Box: Sunday Scripture
The Son of God, Jesus Christ, saves us. Our human minds cannot understand what is of the world let alone what is of God and the spiritual life. We cannot be saved by ourselves, our family and friends, or our worldly possessions and positions. The only way to heaven is to empty our hands of our earthly cares, take up our cross, follow Jesus and do God's will. The author of the first reading acknowledges the limitations of human wisdom and our dependency on God's will in our lives. Paul helps Philemon realize the wisdom of God in personal relationships. Jesus helps us to see the only way to be a disciple of his is to wholeheartedly give our lives to him sharing in his mission, joy and sufferings.

This week’s second collection will be for the Bishop’s Appeal.
