Text Box: Sunday Scripture
The angels praise God, who has conquered all evil. We can be comforted by knowing that God's power and majesty rules over all creation. Through His angels, he has expelled Satan, and so we have nothing to fear from him. In God's Kingdom, Christ reigns with complete authority. The angels are subject to Him and serve him gladly, rejoicing and praising his glory. We, too, shall praise Him in heaven.
The first reading describes the majesty of God on his heavenly throne where he is ministered to by thousands upon thousands. God’s Kingdom is represented by a human figure. In the Gospel, Jesus recognizes Nathaniel and tells him of an image of angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man.
