October 28 – Sts. Simon and Jude, Apostles – Simon called “the Canaanite” and also “ the Zealot,” an anti-Roman party; possibly preached in Egypt and Persia; mentioned in the Roman Canon (First Eucharistic Prayer); was killed in the 1st century. Jude, or Thaddeus (“Courageous”) preached in Palestine and Persia; mentioned in the Roman Canon; patron of those in despair, or in hopeless situations (perhaps because of the similarity of his name with that of Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus and despaired).

Encountered Married Couples
We often hear and are asked by married couples who attended a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend -
"Our weekend was so beautiful and we were so full of faith, love and promise - but what can we do to re-live that special moment in our relationship?" Well, we are so pleased to announce that our Worldwide Marriage Encounter Community will be holding a very special Marriage Enrichment workshop on Saturday October 9 from 8:00 until 5:30 at Holy Spirit Church in Fairfield. We will end this very special day with Mass. This enrichment is for married couples who have previously attended a WWME weekend and are looking to 'rekindle' that very special time in their relationship.
