Text Box: Sunday Scripture
We have the choice: to acknowledge and imitate the ways of Christ or not. God sent his Son Jesus to save and redeem us, and calls us to be humble and obedient. While God desires all to be saved, he forces nothing upon us and honors our choices. Still, we have free will, so it is up to us to choose to be obedient or not.
In the first reading, Ezekiel explains that God will judge souls by their personal choices, conduct and repentance. In the second reading, believers are called to imitate the humility, obedience and service of Christ. In the Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of two sons. One followed their father's command, and the other said he would, but did not.
