Text Box: Sunday Scripture
Service to all! In determining where we shop or where we will have specific work done, we look for people and places that provide good service. Likewise, we are called to be a servant people, providing genuine care and compassionate assistance to all. Part of being a Christian should be the desire to serve, not to be served.
The first reading reminds us that the wicked find all things good and holy to be offensive and are determined to test their divine origins. The second reading teaches that our passions can often lead to sin and destruction. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that true greatness in God's Kingdom comes from offering oneself as a servant to all.
