Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Following Jesus requires constant conversion and purification of our heart from within. We are given plenty of warning today about being too focused on external actions while ignoring those things that can actually harm us–things that defile us from the inside. Spend time on your interior disposition, for that is where conversion of the heart takes place.
Deuteronomy tells of Moses exhorting the people of Israel to keep the Commandments, that they may prosper in the Promised Land. The second reading reminds us that God is the giver of every good gift. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that it is the wicked desires of the human heart that can lead a person to do evil and be corrupt.
Text Box: This week’s second collection will be for the Parish Development Fund. Last week’s 2nd collection for the Mission-Co-Op Appeal totaled $ 2,281.00. Next week’s 2nd collection will be for the Building Fund. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! MAY GOD REWARD YOUR GENEROSITY.
