93rd ANNIVERSARY OF OUR LADY’S APPARITION AT FATIMA

Every year from May to October, in many Catholic parishes around the world, Catholics celebrate the anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady to three Portuguese children: Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia.
We plan to celebrate Fatima services in our Church every month with Holy Mass, the Rosary in different languages and a candlelight procession.
The first service will be on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 7:30 PM. Please come and invite others. If you speak other languages, please contact Fr. Stan at 510-482-0596.

CATHEDRAL CHURCH IN OAKLAND

This weekend of September 11/12 we have a special collection, together with all parishes in our diocese to support our Cathedral Church - the Mother of all churches in our diocese. Let us help our bishop, the Most Reverend Salvatore Cordileone with debts of the new Cathedral.

You can also send your donation now to our Parish Office with a note “for new cathedral”. May God bless your generosity and your support.

Text Box: Sunday Scripture
Finding and realizing the importance of our faith can make us stronger. Our readings today all address the same issue: the importance of our faith in God. In a world where it is easy to grow lax in our faith, the Scriptures urge us to keep our faith active and strong. We do this by praying each day, attending Mass, being strengthened by the Sacraments, and by asking for forgiveness when we sin.
The Israelites face destruction because of their unfaithfulness, but Moses intercedes for them. In the second reading, we are reminded that Jesus came into the world to save sinners. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches about the joy in heaven over one sinner repenting. He uses parables of lost sheep, lost coins, and a prodigal son to make his point.
