PARISH FAMILY NIGHT
This Sunday - October 24; we would like to invite all our parishioners: young and old, with children and without, to celebrate this afternoon together. You can come to the 3:30pm Holy Mass (Marian Movement of Priests) and Holy Hour afterwards; or just come to the Parish Hall for the 5:00pm Potluck Dinner. Bring some food to share.

After the dinner, we will see a video film about Fr Jerzy Popieluszko; a Polish priest - chaplain of the Solidarity Movement; who was murdered by the Polish secret police. More than 150,000 people attended an open-air Mass in the Polish capital of Warsaw to beatify Father Jerzy Popieluszko on the 6th of June 2010. The Holy Mass was celebrated by over 120 bishops and 1,600 priests. Date of his martyrdom is October 19.

OCTOBER MASS COUNT
During the month of October in all parishes in the United States we have a counting of all participants by ushers.
Bishops use these numbers of diocesan statistics to report to the Holy Father during their visit Ad Limina.

Today's first reading assures us that God hears the prayer of the lowly. In the second reading, we hear that Paul looked forward to the crown of righteousness promised to all the faithful. In the Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector. Only the tax collector's prayer was acceptable,
