Text Box: OCTOBER MASS COUNT
During the month of October in all parishes in the United States we have a counting of all participants by ushers.
Bishops use these numbers of diocesan statistics to report to the Holy Father during their official visits Ad Limina Apostolorum.

October 28 – Sts. Simon and Jude, Apostles – Simon called “the Canaanite” and also “ the Zealot,” an anti-Roman party; possibly preached in Egypt and Persia; mentioned in the Roman Canon (First Eucharistic Prayer); was killed in the 1st century. Jude, or Thaddeus (“Courageous”) preached in Palestine and Persia; mentioned in the Roman Canon; patron of those in despair, or in hopeless situations (perhaps because of the similarity of his name with that of Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus and despaired).

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS – Nov. 5/6
Please turn your clocks back 1 hour (1 hour more of sleeping on that night)

ALL SAINTS, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1 IS A HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION

Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Loving God and our neighbor is not always easy or convenient. Loving God and neighbor is far more than a pious platitude. It strikes at the core of how we are to conduct ourselves as followers of Jesus. It is not always a welcome command, especially when we are in the middle of an argument. To love is God's great command to each of us, nonetheless.
Today's first reading reminds us of our responsibilities to those in need. In the second reading, Paul praises the Thessalonians for their love and faithfulness to God. In the Gospel, Jesus summarizes all of the Law and the prophets: love God with all your heart, soul and mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.

Text Box: This week’s second collection will be for the Parish Development Fund. Last week’s second collection for the World Mission Appeal totaled $ 920.00. Next week’s 2nd collection will be for the SVDPS Fund. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR PARISH. MAY GOD REWARD YOUR GENEROSITY.
