Text Box: Sunday Scripture

The teaching and example of Jesus call us to lay down our lives in humble service to God and others. Jesus showed through both his teachings and example that true greatness in God's Kingdom comes through humbly serving the needs of others. Jesus demonstrated this clearly and definitely by freely offering his life for the sake of our salvation. Let us follow our Lord's example so that we might be found worthy of the Kingdom.
The first reading tells of how the Lord's chosen and faithful servant would bring salvation to the world through his suffering and death. Hebrews reminds us that the prayers we offer to the Father through Jesus will be heard and answered. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that true greatness in God's Kingdom is found by humbly serving others.
