ROSARY
During the month of October, we will pray the Rosary every day followed by Benediction. Please come and invite others to participate in this beautiful devotion.

93rd ANNIVERSARY OF OUR LADY’S APPARITION AT FATIMA
Every year from May to October, in many Catholic parishes around the world, Catholics celebrate the anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady to three Portuguese children: Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia. We plan to celebrate Fatima services in our Church every month with Holy Mass, the Rosary in different languages and a candlelight procession. The Fatima Service will be on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 7:30 PM. Please come and invite others. If you speak other languages, please contact Fr. Stan at 510-482-0596.

OCTOBER MASS COUNT
During the month of October in all parishes in the United States we have a counting of all participants by ushers.
Bishops use these numbers of diocesan statistics to report to the Holy Father during their visit Ad Limina.

Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Give thanks to God for the gift of our redemption. The lepers in today's readings were made whole by a loving act of God. Namaan and the Samaritan gave thanks to God and recognized his power in their cures. Others failed to give thanks. How often have we given God due thanks for his blessings, especially for saving us from our human frailties and winning for us eternal life?
In the first reading, Elisha cures Namaan, a leper, who then rejects all other gods but the Lord. In the second reading, we are reminded that faith in Christ is worth sacrificing in this life, since if we have died with him, we shall also live with him. In the Gospel, Jesus cures ten lepers, but only one returns to thank him.
