Gain a Plenary Indulgence

The Immaculate Mother of God is the special Patron and heavenly intercessor of the United States of America and she is also the primary Patroness of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest.

All faithful who attend Holy Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (12/8) in one of the Institute’s churches or oratories are able to gain a plenary indulgence under the ordinary conditions: Sacramental Confession, Eucharistic Communion, prayer for the intention of the Sovereign Pontiff, and detachment from sin.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Gregorian Chant Workshop - Friday, 1/9/09 - Sunday, 1/11/09, at the shrine in chicago

Are you a member of a parish choir which sings Gregorian Chant? Are you a choir director who is starting or building a

Gregorian Chant schola? Are you familiar with the basics of Chant, but wish to master the Gregorian art? Then this chant workshop weekend  is for you.

Under the direction of Canon Wulfran Lebocq, participants will learn the fine points of the classic method of Solemses as taught by the late Dom Joseph Gajard and will sing each day at Holy Mass and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

On the final day, participants will sing at a Solemn Pontifical High Mass celebrated by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Joseph N. Perry, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago.

Having studied for several years with the Schola Saint Gregoire (Le Mans, France), Canon Lebocq has been serving as the Choirmaster of the schola cantorum of the Institute’s Seminary in Gricigliano since his ordination to the holy priesthood in 2003. He has participated in three Gregorian Chant CD recordings. Most recently, he directed the Institute’s schola for the November 3 All Souls Day Solemn High Requiem Mass which was broadcast on EWTN.

Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest

Thank you letter from Father Wiener to the Faithful of the

Oratory at St. Margaret Mary Church

Your gift of a most magnificent chalice has been a constant reminder of your affection and generosity.  I am deeply grateful for this princely gift and for your support these past years, which is most humbling to me and engraves itself in my heart.  You shall be remembered at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass each Tuesday evening here at St. Francis de Sales Oratory, where we celebrate the evening Mass at the altar of Our Mother of Perpetual Help on behalf of benefactors of the Institute.

My apologies for being so late in writing but I was somewhat overwhelmed by the many immediate needs to be attended to here.  I trust you are being well served by Father Moreau, who is an excellent priest and  confrere.  May God continue to bless all of you and your families.

Faithfully yours in Christ the King,

Father Michael Wiener, Rector /Episcopal Pro-Delegate
