Text Box: Sunday Scripture
We are to show love not only in our words, but in our deeds, as well. If you want something done, then do it! Don't just sit there and talk about it. Such words largely reflect the work ethic of our society. However, such a sentiment can also apply to the spiritual realm. Love is not something simply to be talked about. It is to be lived. Real love for God takes work, commitment, and trust in the Lord. Today's first reading tells of the early days of Paul's ministry. Many of the believers still feared and mistrusted him. Nevertheless, his work was fruitful. The second reading teaches that our words of Christian love are to be matched by good works. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that He is the Vine and we are the branches.
