Sunday Scripture Though the Eucharist, God brings about a unique transformation in us. All things are made new through Christ. This transformation began when Christ came among us, and continue to this day. In particular, Christ is present to us in the Eucharist. Through the Eucharist, we can be transformed, strengthened to live more Christ-like lives and nourished with the food that can lead to eternal life. In Deuteronomy, Moses implores the people to remember how God did something new by feeding them with manna. Jesus calls the Jews to understand that he is like new manna sent from the Father. Unlike before, this bread from heaven gives eternal life. Paul calls us to remember that the bread and cup we share in the Eucharist is truly Christ. |
