Text Box: Sunday Scripture

The example of our lives is to testify to our belief in Jesus as the Way, the Truth and the Life. Our Baptism calls for us not to be passive believers, but to follow Jesus Christ in both word and deed. When Jesus says that he is the Way, the Truth and the Life, he is, in effect, also giving us a challenge. While we come to know God the Father through Jesus, others are to come to know and experience Christ's love through us.
In today's first reading, we hear of the first deacons being chosen, and the Christian community continuing to grow. The second reading reminds us that we are a part of the royal priesthood and we are to sing the praises of the Lord. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that he is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Text Box: Last week’s 2nd collection for Catholic Charities amounted to $560.00.
