Text Box: Sunday Scripture

We, as Church, are called to embrace the mission of Christ and share the message of salvation. On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit transformed the frightened Apostles into fervent preachers. Can we, too, be open to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit? Through the power of the Holy Spirit we can share in Christ's mission; we become emboldened to share our faith through evangelization. The Holy Spirit descends upon the disciples in the Upper Room and empowers them to speak in many languages. The Corinthians are reminded that each person has gifts used to build up the Body of Christ. Jesus appears to the disciples, breathes the Holy Spirit upon them, and gives them the power to forgive sins.

This week’s second collection will be for Catholic Charities.

Next week’s 2nd collection will be for Assessments and Insurance.
