We need your help; we ask that you bring a side dish to share. Please contact Valerie Burkart at valzb@sbcglobal.net or call her at (925) 875-0281 to help with this joyous occasion. Text Box: Sunday Scripture

We are called to love one another. We hear in the Gospel that the Jewish believers accompanying Peter are shocked when the Spirit comes upon the Gentiles. Love and inclusion are clearly to be part of this new Church established by Jesus. Whoever fears God and acts uprightly is acceptable to him. Who are we to act differently?
We continue to hear of the growth in the early Church as Gentiles come to believe. Tensions arise between Jewish and Gentile believers. In our second reading, John reminds us that we are to love one another. In the Gospel, Jesus challenges his followers to love the way he loves.
