Today on Sunday, May 15th, after just receiving yesterday his Ordination to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood, Rev. Father Rafal Duda will celebrate his First Holy Mass today at St. Margaret Mary’s 10:30AM – Novus Ordo Latin Mass.  We will have the opportunity to receive his first priestly blessing after the Holy Mass.  A plenary indulgence is granted to those who venerate the hands of a newly ordained priest and receive this special blessing (under the usual conditions).
If you have questions or would like to help with the preparations of the reception, please contact Valerie or John Burkart valzb@sbcglobal.net or at 925-846- 8215.
Many of you have come to know Rev. Fr Rafal Duda as he has been assisting Fr. Stan Zak here at St. Margaret Mary for the past several years during his studies as a seminarian, here in our Oakland Diocese. We are blessed to have a new priest, CELEBRATING HIS FIRST MASS AT St. Margaret Mary.
In gratitude, St. Margaret Mary parishioners & friends will be gifting Rev. Duda with a priestly vestment, those that would like to contribute can make checks out to “St. Margaret Mary Church”, please include your name if donating in cash. Our parish will also be hosting a reception in the Fr. Kozina parish hall for Rev. Rafal Duda after his first Holy Mass, today, directly after the 10:30 Mass.
Please plan to join us for this most joyous occasion; all are welcome and encouraged to attend in support of our priests.

Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Like a Shepherd, Jesus leads us along the way to eternal life in heaven. As we continue to celebrate this Easter season, our readings today challenge us to think about the Resurrection and its implications for our lives. They remind us that as followers of Christ we are to keep our focus on him. We are to follow wherever He leads us. He is the way to eternal life.
The first reading tells how Peter, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, boldly proclaims the Risen Christ and calls those present to repentance and Baptism. In the second reading, Peter exhorts the early Christians to imitate Christ by being patient in the face of suffering. The Gospel reminds us that we are to follow Christ, as he is the gate to eternal life.
