Text Box: Sunday Scripture
The Church is a community of people who are believers in the Resurrection of Christ. The Church is a community of people who believe in the Resurrection of Christ. Its members are nourished by word and Sacrament, guided by the teachings of the Apostles, strengthened by the testimony of other believers, and sustained by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The first reading tells how the early Christians lived communally, learned from the Apostles, and devoted themselves to prayer. In the second reading, Peter encourages the faithful to hold fast to their faith, even through trials. The Gospel tells of the Apostle Thomas doubting the Resurrection, and how he comes to believe.
