FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CHILDREN TO RECEIVE CRUCIFIXES on Sunday, March 7th.

This Sunday, March 7th, the First Holy Communion Children, Class of 2010, of St. Margaret Mary will be presented with crucifixes.

As we meditate on the suffering and death of Our Lord on the Cross for our salvation during  Lent, let us pray for these children as they continue to prepare to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus in Holy Communion in May.

Pray also for their families and catechists.

Sunday Scripture

Now is the time to repent and return to the Lord. One of the constant themes of the season of Lent is the opportunity for all to repent and return to the Lord. In today's Gospel, Jesus gives us a parable about giving a fig tree yet another chance. We recognize that the Lord is truly kind and merciful, but it is up to us to repent and return to him.

The first reading today tells of God's appearance to Moses at the burning bush. God says he is to be known as I AM. In the second reading, Paul tells that we are to learn from our ancestors in faith and be true to God. The Gospel uses the parable of the barren fig tree to teach a lesson on the depths of God's mercy, love and forgiveness.
