Last week second collection for the Parish Development Fund   amounted $ 573.50. Good Friday Collection Holy Land amounted $ 5,153.00. Easter Gifts to the Parish amounted $ 4,191.00. THE FEAST OF DIVINE MERCY

       We started this Novena on Good Friday, March 21. Every day from Good Friday until today March 30, at 3.00PM, we recited the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

This Sunday, March 30:

2.00PM -Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for private Adoration and Rosary. The Sacrament of Confession will be administered during that time.

3.00PM - We start to sing the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, followed by Benediction; the Holy Mass will be celebrated afterwards.

       Special booklets with Chaplet and other prayers are available at the tables with Parish Bulletins. Please invite your relatives and friends to celebrate this Feast of Divine Mercy together.

       The messages of Mercy that St. Faustina received are today being spread throughout the world. She was given the title "Venerable" by the church on May 7, 1992, her beatification took place in Rome on April 18, 1993, the Sunday after Easter, the Feast of Divine Mercy. On April 30, 2000 (Divine Mercy Sunday) St. Faustina was canonized.

       Decree establishing Divine Mercy Sunday for whole Church was issued by the Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments on May 5th 2000.

Sunday Scripture

Being  together in community can strengthen our relationship with God. In today’s Scriptures, we find the believing community its gathered together. After Jesus’ death, the disciples encountered the Risen Lord while  they were together, and a sense of unity is seen as a strength of the early Church. So, while coming together for worship is not the only way, it is a major way in which we encounter God. In today’s Gospel, the disciples had locked themselves in a room, and the resurrected Jesus appeared to them, but Thomas was not there. When he heard what had happened, he would not believe without seeing for himself. It was only by encountering Jesus personally that Thomas could experience the Lord’s peace and presence.
