This week we celebrate the First Thursday on April 2, a day of special prayer for our priests, religious & seminarians. HOLY HOUR will be celebrated after morning Holy Mass because of CHRISM MASS.  On First Friday, April 3rd, after the Holy Masses, we expose the Blessed Sacrament and recite the Litany to the Sacred Heart, followed by Benediction. An extra Mass for home-schooling children & their parents will be at 9:30 AM. Other parishioners are also welcome to come and to pray with us.  On the First Saturday, April 4th, after the 8:00 AM Mass, there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary will be recited.

BITTER LAMENTATIONS & STATIONS: Lenten Vespers (sung Evening Prayer) about the sufferings and death of Our Lord Jesus Christ will be celebrated every Sunday of Lent at 5:00 PM; followed by Benediction and Holy Mass. Please come and invite others to participate in this beautiful Vespers. Stations of the Cross are recited every Friday after the Holy Masses.

Sunday Scripture

We are a people saved from eternal death and brought to new life by Jesus. God has great mercy and deep love for us. Out of this love, God sent his Son, Jesus, to redeem us by his blood, offering us the hope of eternal life. Our rescue from sin and death, darkness and evil, is sheer grace. This great gift from God merits a response of gratitude from us and a life of faith and good works.

In the Gospel Jesus teaches that God sent him as a sacrifice to save us. He compares his being lifted up on the Cross to the bronze serpent lifted by Moses to heal the Israelites. In Ephesians we hear of God's rich mercy. In the first reading, the Chosen People are free to return to Israel after their exile.
