Text Box: Sunday Scripture
Jesus is the Mediator of the New Covenant, by which God's law is written upon our hearts. As we move closer to the end of Lent, we are reminded of the New Covenant that Jesus brought us. Under this New Covenant, God's law is written on our hearts, God forgives our sins, and we become heirs of heaven. Let us strive daily to live by this Covenant–in accord with God's will–and celebrate the eternal salvation Jesus won for us!
In today's first reading, Jeremiah prophesies that there will be a new covenant made with the people of Israel. The second reading reminds us that Jesus is the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him. In the Gospel, Jesus tells us that He is to be glorified, as He obeys the Father and accepts the suffering that awaits Him.
