PLEASE TAKE HOME A “RICE BOWL” from the vestibule of the church. We will collect this money on Palm Sunday, April 17, 2011.
This is a Lenten program of CRS, the official overseas relief & development agency working on behalf of the Catholic community in the USA. 75% of your gifts to Operation Rice Bowl come to CRS to fund development projects overseas and Lenten education efforts in the USA. Twenty-five percent of contributions support hunger & poverty alleviation efforts in dioceses in the USA.
We are also collecting imperishable food items. In the vestibule of our church, barrels for food are placed. “I was hungry and you gave me food.”

LAST WEEK, Friday March 11, 2.00pm till Sunday March 13, 7.30am this week - Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We started with Solemn Mass followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Please sign up on the list to spend ONE HOUR OR MORE WITH JESUS.

Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Let us seek the Lord's help in overcoming temptation to sin. During this penitential season, let us use the Lenten disciplines of fasting, prayer and almsgiving to follow more closely the example of Jesus in the desert. Let us do our part to confront evil and sin in the world, seek God's help in overcoming temptation in our own lives, and ask him to help us persevere in faith.
Our first reading recounts the sin of Adam and Eve, with the serpent speaking for Satan, as their tempter. The second reading identifies Jesus as the new Adam, who pays the price for the sin of the first Adam, and brings salvation to our world. In the Gospel, Jesus is tempted in the desert, but does not give in to the devil's temptations.
Text Box: Last week, the second collection for the Building Fund amounted to $ 827.00. Ash Wednesday Collection for SVDPS amounted to 0.00. This week, the 2nd collection is for the Bishop’s Appeal Fund. Next week, the 2nd collection will be for the Catholic Relief Services (Bishop’s Overseas Appeal). THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR PARISH. MAY GOD REWARD YOUR GENEROSITY.
