Text Box: Sunday Scripture
We find God's power and wisdom where others may see weakness and failure–in the Crucifixion. As Christians, we find God's power and wisdom where others would least expect them–in Christ crucified. What may appear to some to be weakness and failure, we see as the sign and instrument of our salvation. Christ, indeed, died for our sins. But He also rose from the dead, offering us the hope of life everlasting in heaven.
Today's first reading presents us with the Ten Commandments, which God gave us through Moses. The second reading proclaims that in Christ crucified we see the power and wisdom of God. The Gospel tells of Christ driving out the merchants from the Temple, and how the Temple of Christ, His body, would be destroyed and be raised in three days.
