Text Box: Sunday Scripture
God, the Lord of the living and the dead, desires us to have life and live it to the fullest. God's power is revealed in many ways. Today's readings reflect this power in life-changing ways. In two instances, life is restored. In another, a life is literally changed. God desires us to have life. Are we taking advantage of this gift from God and living it to the fullest? The first reading tells of how the prophet Elijah restored the life of the dead son of the widow of Zarephath. Paul recounts how his life is changed and renewed by his first encounter with the Risen Christ. In the Gospel, Jesus demonstrates his great power over life and death by restoring to life the son of the widow of Nain.

This week’s second collection will be for the Bishop’s Appeal.

Last week’s 2nd collection for the Building Fund totaled $1,001.00.

Next week’s 2nd collection will be for the Catholic Communications Campaign.
