Text Box: Sunday Scripture:

Let us remember the apostolic roots of our Christian faith passed down through the generations. As the Church, we rejoice today in the fidelity of Simon Peter and Paul who boldly proclaimed the Risen Christ and laid down their lives for the Gospel message. Through their courage and commitment, the Gospel has been proclaimed before all nations. Their lives remind us of our apostolic roots. Having been imprisoned by King Herod, Peter is miraculously freed to continue his mission. Paul writes to Timothy about God’s faithfulness. The Gospel recalls a key question asked by Jesus: Who do you say that I am? For his answer, Simon Peter is entrusted with the keys to the Kingdom of heaven.
