Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Through the Body and Blood of Christ we share in God's Kingdom. Today we celebrate the Body and Blood of Christ, a day that helps us appreciate the Sacrament that gathers us together around the table of the Lord. Through the Eucharist, Christ gives us a share in the mystery that is God's love for us.
The sprinkling of the blood of the young bulls upon the people and splashing it upon the altar ratified the covenant between God and the Jews. The reading from Hebrews reminds us that Jesus is the Mediator of the New Covenant. In the Gospel, Jesus consecrates bread and wine as His Body and Blood, instituting the Eucharist.
