Jesus is our Savior and King. Jesus fed the multitudes with bread and fish. He feeds us with his Body and Blood in the Eucharist. Many fed by the loaves and fishes misunderstood the meaning of this miracle and wanted to make Him king. We look to Jesus as our Savior and King who has revealed the way to salvation and opened the way to eternal life.
In the first reading, the prophet Elisha shares the food that has been brought to him, and it is enough to feed the people. Paul teaches that there is one body, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. Jesus takes the five loaves and the two fish, offers thanks to God, blesses the food and feeds five thousand; with twelve baskets of fragments left over.
