Text Box: Sunday Scripture
We are to live in a manner that recognizes and honors the blessings God sends us. Through history, humankind has survived and prospered because people learned early the benefits of cooperation and working for the common good. Each day we live in this world as miracle of God’s divine providence. We should thank God, not only for our food, but also for the many blessings and benefits that he sends our way.
With faith in God, Elisha fed a hundred people with twenty barely loaves. Similarly, in today’s Gospel Jesus took five loaves and two fish, gave thanks to the Father and fed more than five thousand, and all were satisfied. Paul teaches us that Christians are united in one body, one hope, one faith, one Baptism, in the one Lord.
