Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Jesus summoned the Twelve and sent them out two by two. Jesus sent the Apostles out to proclaim the good news of God's love and to help the poor and the suffering. Each of us is also called to work for justice and peace and to serve the needs of those around us. Poverty wears many faces: some have needs of the body, some have needs of the spirit. God calls us to serve them all.

In the first reading, the prophet Amos reminds us that who we think we are and who God calls us to be do not always match up. In the second reading, Paul tells us once again that we are the beloved of God. In the Gospel, Jesus sends out the Twelve two by two to preach repentance, cure the sick and expel demons.
Text Box: This week’s second collection will be for the Latin America/Catholic University Campaign. Last week’s 2nd collection for the Bishop’s Appeal totaled $1,171.15. Next week’s 2nd collection will be for the Parish Development Fund. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! MAY GOD REWARD YOUR GENEROSITY.
