3rd ANNUAL “OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL“ PARISH BBQ - THIS SUNDAY, Text Box: Sunday Scripture
All our words and actions are to bear good fruit. Throughout Matthew’s Gospel, there are a number of parables. In today’s Gospel, Jesus gives us a parable and explains the lesson he wants us to earn. He teaches us that our lives must resemble the rich soil, ready to have the seed of faith grow in us. We are not only to hear the word of God, but act on it and live it out every day.
In the reading from Isaiah we hear how God has a plan for his word to grow and become fruitful among his people. Jesus, in the Gospel, illustrates how the word of God grows in hearts that are open to it. Paul tells the community at Rome that they may undergo suffering, but it can lead to glory in the life to come.
