Text Box: 92nd ANNIVERSARY OF APPARITION OF OUR LADY AT FATIMA; 1917ó2009

Every year from May to October in many Catholic Parishes around the world, Catholics celebrate the anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady to three Portuguese children: Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia. We plan to celebrate Fatima Services in our church every month with Holy Mass, the Rosary in different languages, and a candlelight procession. The Fatima Service will be this week on Monday, July 13th 2009 at 7.30PM. Please save this date and inform others.
This year in July we will celebrate Divine Liturgy in the Greek Catholic Byzantine Ukrainian Rite. It was in July 13, 1917 when Our Lady asked children in Fatima to pray for the conversion of Russia.
Father Theodore Wroblicky - pastor of the Holy Wisdom Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church will be main celebrant. This year he was celebrating 10th anniversary of his Ordination to the Holy Priesthood. He will also bring his small choir to sing the Divine Liturgy. Other clergy of the Eastern and Latin Rite will be here. After the Divine Liturgy will be a little potluck reception (please bring some food to share). Please sign up list in the vestibule. We would like to know how many people are coming.
More information about Byzantine Liturgy inside this Bulletin. Please inform and invite others.

DONíT TAKE A VACATION FROM
CHURCH AND GOD

Text Box: Sunday Scripture
God blesses us with all that we need in order to live in accord with his will. Each of us has been called by God to a unique vocation, and he provides us with the talents and blessings we need in order to carry it out. However, to do this we need to be open to the working of the Holy Spirit within us. When we cooperate with the Holy Spirit, we can accomplish all God asks of us.
The prophet Amos is rejected in Bethel, but continues to serve God as a prophet to the people of Israel. Paulís letter to the Ephesians reminds us of the many spiritual blessings we receive through Christ. In todayís Gospel, Jesus sends the Apostles out to carry on his mission. He equips them spiritually, but also prepares them for rejection.
