Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Trust in God can help us overcome fear. The healing of the suffering woman required no words from her; she simply trusted in the power of Jesus. Even after news came that his child was dead, Jairus was encouraged by Jesus to have trust. Likewise, when we feel afraid we, too, must have trust in the Lord. It is good that God desires for us; we can be sure of that.
Today's reading from Wisdom reminds us that God created all things for good. Death entered the world by envy of the devil. The Gospel recounts Jesus healing a long suffering woman and raising a dead child to life. Paul teaches that richness in Christian faith and love calls us to assist when others are in need.
