Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Jesus taught about God's love for us and how we are to share that love with others. Although the Gospels do not always tell us exactly what Jesus was saying as He taught, we know well His message. Let God's love for you permeate your lives; love God in return, and out of that love, serve the needs of one another. The ways of the world, self pride, anger or greed are not to define you.
In today's first reading, Moses speaks of a new prophet whom God will raise up among the people. In the second reading, we hear that our first concerns in life are to be the things of the Lord. The Gospel describes the astonishment of the people at the authority with which Jesus taught and healed so many.
