St. Anne’s Guild Corner
Invitations have been mailed for Carnival Christi: Le Quatrième Mardi Gras, our fourth annual Mardi Gras Dinner Dance and Auction on February 26, 2011. Please respond early - ticket sales will begin this Sunday, on February 6 after all Holy Masses.
This year’s Mardi Gras is dedicated to both the St. Margaret Mary Building Fund and to the Order of Malta Health Clinic at the Cathedral of Christ the Light. The Order of Malta Health Clinic is an independently run medical clinic serving the poor and uninsured community of Oakland. We will be working with the Knights of Malta to raise money for both our causes, and, in advance, thank you for your charity.
The St. Margaret Mary Building Fund proceeds will be dedicated to the lighting and general security of our church, rectory and parish hall. These systems are woefully outdated increasing our risk for theft and threatening the general safety of our clergy and parishioners.
Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Let your light shine before all. Some good Catholics may think they do not have much to share about their faith. Even though they are devoted, they may think they do not know enough to evangelize, but that is a mistaken notion. Evangelization is about acknowledging God's love for us, sharing that love with others and helping those in need.
The first reading teaches that we are to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and care for one another. In the second reading, Paul says his preaching was simple so that it was God's power that opened the people to faith, not someone's eloquence. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that we glorify God when we let the light of our faith shine forth.
Text Box: Last week, the second collection for the SVDPS Fund amounted to $ 2,178.00. This week, the 2nd collection is for the Parish Building Fund. Next week, the 2nd collection will be for the Bishop’s Appeal Fund. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR PARISH. MAY GOD REWARD YOUR GENEROSITY.
