Text Box: Sunday Scripture

If I have all faith so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. Jesus teaches us that we must not adhere to ideas of isolation. To be followers of Jesus, we must reach beyond our own circle of family or friends to serve the needs of all others with loving kindness. Paul says it well; faith and hope are necessary, but the greatest gift is love.
Jeremiah is assured that even though the people reject him, God is in control. Paul teaches the Corinthians that love is the root of all goodness; without it, faith is empty and meaningless. In today's Gospel, Jesus reminds us that God gives gifts to all people; that God's love is bestowed upon all; and, that salvation has come for all.
