Text Box: Sunday Scripture
Seek refuge in God's covenant of love. Lent is a season for repentance. Our relationship with God offers us a refuge from the temptations of sin and a gateway to salvation. Through deed and prayer we glorify God, whose mercy is never ending. Through Jesus, we recognize that suffering is a part of our journey of faith.
In the first reading, God gives the rainbow as a sign He will not allow a flood to devastate the entire earth again. In the second reading, we are told that the Great Flood prefigured Baptism, by which we are saved. Today's Gospel tells of Jesus in the desert, tempted by Satan and attended to by angels, before He began His public ministry.
