Sunday Scripture

God is forever faithful to his promises. During this Lenten season, many of us choose to make sacrifices and do penance in preparation for Easter. The underlying reason for these sacrifices is to be attentive to the work of God in our lives. We should keep in mind the Lord's admonition to love Him with our whole heart, mind, and soul, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Our readings today are filled with hope. God was faithful to the promise made to Abram. In Philippians, Paul instructs the Christians that the Lord will give them a new body patterned after his own glorified one in heaven. Jesus' transfiguration on the mountain gives us a glimpse of his glory.
