Sunday Scripture

By turning away from sin and resisting temptation we grow spiritually. The goal of our Lenten journey is to renew and deepen our relationship with God. May we seek to grow stronger spiritually by resisting temptation and by repenting of our sins. As we turn away from sin, we will come to love the Lord more fully. That love will flow from us into all aspects of our lives and subsequently affect the lives of others. Moses instructs the Israelites to prepare a tithe of produce as a sign of gratitude to God for freeing them from slavery in Egypt and bringing them to the Promised Land. Paul teaches the Romans that those who believe in their hearts and confess with their lips that Jesus is Lord, will be saved. In the Gospel, Jesus is tried and tempted by Satan in the desert.
