FOR CHILDREN- Candles -
Sunday, February 1st.
This Sunday, February 1, the First Holy Communion Children, Class of 2009, of St. Margaret Mary will be presented with Candles. As we commemorate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (February 2nd), known as CANDLEMAS, let us pray to Our Lady for these children as they continue to prepare to receive her Son, Jesus, in Holy Communion in May. Pray also for their families and catechists.

BLESSING OF EXPECTANT MOTHERS
Will take place this weekend, Saturday, January 31, at 5:00 PM, and Sunday, February 1, at the 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM Masses.

FIRST THURSDAY,
FRIDAY & SATURDAY
This week we celebrate the First Thursday on February 5, a day of special prayer for our priests, religious & seminarians. After the 6:00 PM Holy Mass, we expose the Blessed Sacrament and celebrate HOLY HOUR. On First Friday, February 6th, after the Holy Masses, we expose the Blessed Sacrament and recite the Litany to the Sacred Heart, followed by Benediction. An extra Mass for home-schooling children & their parents will be at 9:30 AM. Other parishioners are also welcome to come and to pray with us if you have time. On First Saturday, February 7th, after the 8:00 AM Mass, there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary will be recited.

Text Box: Sunday Scripture
All of us are called to serve the Lord and to serve one another. Not all people are called to be a Moses or a Paul, but each of us can speak out against the injustices in our society. We can live the teachings of Jesus in our families and in the workplace. We can be the messenger of God's love and forgiveness to someone whom no one else can reach. Such service can bring us great joy.
Moses reassures the people that God will one day raise up a prophet like him among them. Paul teaches that some people are called to devote their lives to service to the Lord. In the Gospel, Mark tells us that Jesus taught in the synagogue and expelled unclean spirits. The people were astonished and amazed by the authority of his words.
