Novena Masses will be celebrated for all the sick (family members, friends, parishioners & benefactors of our parish) before the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. We mailed a special letter with the form you can use to write down the names of your loved ones who are ill or sick (please use all capital letters). Extra forms you can find next to the Parish Bulletin in our church. We will pray for their intentions, and their names will be entered in the Book of Prayer for the Sick. That book will be placed in Our Lady’s chapel (in front of the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes) during that Jubilee Year and will be updated weekly with new names of the sick. footsteps of Jesus Christ”. We will really walk in the footsteps of Our Lord in the Land of His birth, where He lived for 33 years and died for our Salvation. The chaperones had a great time watching the kids do the Virginia Reel, line dancing, pinky dancing and swing dancing as well as dancing to the clean, modern music. We had about 50 teenagers (and up) from all around the Bay Area attend and a good time was had by all. If you're interested in your teen/young adult attending one of our next dances, please contact Joni Durling @ 925-757-6896 or joni@durlingfamily.net to be put on the invitation mailing list. One of the teens wrote: In the company of animated Catholic teens, with well-selected music and a handsome hall, the T.O.R.C.H. Masquerade Dance could not have been more delightful! Shimmering masks, sequin vests, and graceful skirts have never looked so invitingly charming than those displayed at the Masquerade Dance. Yet, the most adorning feature of each dancer’s apparel was the blithe and lively grin that crept on every face. Countless thanks to St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church whose magnanimous and hospitable accommodations have made our night of festive merrymaking possible!! MARDI GRAS & AUCTION The Mystic Krewe of St. Anne extends a heartfelt Thank You to all guests who joined us last Saturday, in our transformed church hall. Everyone got in the spirit of New Orleans upon arrival with live Dixieland Jazz played by a 4-piece band. A little champagne for the guests helped too! His Excellency, Bishop Allen Vigneron, crowned Frank and Imogene Martin as our Mardi Gras King and Queen. Can you think of a more fitting couple? King Frank was regal, and Queen Imogene was stunning at his side! Guests perused the auction area and partook in some friendly competition as we bid on the auction items. A fine New Orleans style dinner was served by PJMac, and Pat O’Brian’s bar was open during the whole evening. |
