Text Box: Sunday Scripture:

God himself will give a sign: a virgin shall conceive and bear a son.Today's readings remind us that God has been faithful to the covenant promises he made to this Chosen People, Israel. Christ is the long awaited Emmanuel–God with us! Isaiah recalls the promise God made to Israel and to the royal house of David: a virgin shall conceive and bear a son. Paul, writing to the Romans, sets out on his mission to proclaim the Risen Christ to the Gentiles. Matthew tells how Joseph, espoused to Mary, comes to know that the child she has conceived is the fulfillment of the promise.

This week’s second collection will be for the Catholic Voice assessment. Last week’s 2nd collection for the Religious Retirement fund totaled  $1,889.00.  Next week’s 2nd collection will be for the Parish Liability Insurance and Diocesan Assessments.
