Text Box: Sunday Scripture:

Advent is a time to grow in faith, express thankfulness and embrace service. Do we wonder if Jesus is the One? Like John, our faith may have desert moments. How can we burst forth in bloom like the desert? We can trust in God, give thanks for his great gift of salvation no matter what the circumstances and adopt lives of service that uphold our Catholic tradition of care for the poor and vulnerable (CCC 2443, 2444). The lifeless desert blooms with verdant trees and plant life. James warns his readers to be patient and make their hearts firm until the Lord comes. John the Baptist is in prison and wonders if Jesus is the one. Jesus answers him with signs and miracles, proclaiming the Scriptures and testifying to his salvific mission (CCC 548).

This week’s second collection will be for the Catholic Voice assessment. Last week’s 2nd collection for the Religious Retirement fund totaled  $1,889.00.  Next week’s 2nd collection will be for the Parish Liability Insurance and Diocesan Assessments. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY AND SUPPORT!  MAY GOD REWARD YOUR GENEROSITY.
