Text Box: Sunday Scripture
No one who comes to Him shall ever hunger or thirst. The Gospel reading today introduces the Bread of Life discourse. Just as God fed the Israelites in the desert with quail and manna, he feeds us today with the Body and Blood of his Son, Jesus. Are we taking advantage of this true bread from heaven? Or are we leaving the table hungry?
In today's first reading, we hear of God's response to the grumbling of the Israelite community in the desert. In Paul's Letter to the Ephesians, he tells them to put away the old self and put on a new self in Jesus. In the Gospel, Jesus presents himself as the Bread of Life. Those who believe in Him will never hunger nor thirst.
