Text Box: Sunday Scripture

Peter’s profession of faith becomes the rock on which the Church is built. Peter made the dramatic pronouncement in today’s Gospel about who Jesus was. Jesus called Simon Peter or Rock– upon whom the foundation of his Church would rest. We must strive to be like Peter–not only recognizing who Jesus is, but professing our faith openly.
In today’s first reading, the master of the palace is told he will be replaced. In his Letter to the Romans, Saint Paul exhorts the Romans to give glory to God forever. In the Gospel today, Jesus tells Peter that he is chosen as the rock upon which the Church will be built.

This week’s second collection will be for Diocesan Assessment & Insurance. Last weeks second collection for the Mission Co-Op Appeal totaled $3,644,00. Next week’s second collection for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.    THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

MAY GOD REWARD YOUR GENEROSITY.
