Text Box: FIRST THURSDAY & FRIDAY This week we will celebrate – First Thursday - August 6th - a day of special prayer for our priests, religious & seminarians. After 6.00PM Holy Mass, we expose the Blessed Sacrament and we celebrate THE HOLY HOUR. First Friday - August 7th. After the Holy Masses, we expose the Blessed Sacrament and recite the Litany to the Sacred Heart, followed by Benediction. An extra Mass for home schooling children & their parents will be at 9.30AM. Other Parishioners are also welcomed to come and to pray with us if you have time. BLESSING OF EXPECTANT MOTHERS Will be this weekend; on the August 1/2, during Saturday 5.00PM, Sunday 8.30 & 10.30AM Masses. 92nd ANNIVERSARY OF APPARITION OF OUR LADY AT FATIMA; 1917—2009 Every year from May to October in many Catholic Parishes around the world, Catholics celebrate the anniversary of the apparition of Our Lady to three Portuguese children: Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia. We plan to celebrate Fatima Services in our church every month with Holy Mass, the Rosary in different languages, and a procession with the statue of the Blessed Lady of Fatima inside the church. The Fatima Service will be next week on Sunday, August 13th 2009 at 7.30PM. Please save this date and inform others. 20 ANNIVERSARY OF TRIDENTINE HOLY MASS ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 20, 2009; 12.30 Please mark your calendar for this celebration. More information in the Parish Bulletin next week. Text Box: Sunday Scripture We are to live in a manner that recognizes and honors the blessings God sends us. Through history, humankind has survived and prospered because people learned early the benefits of cooperation and working for the common good. Each day we live in this world as miracle of God’s divine providence. We should thank God, not only for our food, but also for the many blessings and benefits that he sends our way. With faith in God, Elisha fed a hundred people with twenty barely loaves. Similarly, in today’s Gospel Jesus took five loaves and two fish, gave thanks to the Father and fed more than five thousand, and all were satisfied. Paul teaches us that Christians are united in one body, one hope, one faith, one Baptism, in the one Lord.
