Text Box: Sunday Scripture

The Lord hears all who call out to him. It is so easy to forget what the Lord expects of us when our minds become distracted by the daily events of our lives. But we need to be persistent in our prayer. The Lord asks us to keep the Sabbath holy, that is, to give this day entirely to the work of the Lord. How well are we doing?
In the first reading, the prophet Isaiah tells us that all people are included in Godís plan of salvation. In Paulís letter today, he teaches that salvation through Jesus is available to all because the Father is merciful to those who believe in him. In todayís Gospel, Jesus grants a healing miracle to the daughter of a Canaanite woman, a Gentile.

This weekís second collection will be for the Missionary CO-OP Appeal. Last weeks second collection for Bishopís Appeal totaled $ 976.00. Next weekís second collection for Diocesan Assessment & Insurance.
