Text Box: Sunday Scripture:

The Son of God is the source of our strength. Many times in life, we look for God’s saving presence. We look for Jesus to be the great rescuer–someone who will immediately lift us up from our struggles. But we need to take the time to reflect how God is now, or has been, present to us. Such spiritual vision will help us to more readily call upon the power of God in times of need. Elijah is seeking shelter in the cave, but God won’t let him hide there. He is challenged to go out and look for the presence of God and finds it in unexpected places. The disciples, too, want shelter from the storm and they find it in Jesus. Although they are initially shaken by the storm, they come to realize that the Son of God is in their midst.

This week’s second collection will be for the Bishop’s Appeal .  Last weeks second collection for Building Fund totaled $ 1,071.57. Next week’s second collection will be for the Missionary CO-OP Appeal.
