Sunday Scripture We rejoice in our redemption. As we contemplate the mystery of the Resurrection of Jesus, joy is a word that often comes to mind. This joy is a sign that we have been profoundly moved by opening our hearts and minds to the promise of salvation offered by the Risen Lord. Filled with this joy, we can more convincingly tell others the good news that Jesus has redeemed us. In two of today’s readings we hear Peter boldly proclaiming the Resurrection of Jesus and then teaching that it was the blood of Christ that has saved us. In the Gospel, the disciples who met Jesus on the road to Emmaus, learn from him and then return to Jerusalem to tell the others that they have been with the Risen Jesus. |
